Sweet Justice

Finally! The shelves are in. They would be 100% installed, but now we aren't sure about the colour. We wanted the cabinets to be a blue-gray, but we didn't want to go too dark. As a result, I think we went too pale. Thoughts? (mom?)

It's really hard to tell with the deluge of clashing colours in the kitchen.

Gotta love that bright red linoleum tile floor.

Here are some process shots of the shelf installation:

Shelves all lined up and primed.

More spacers...

Ready to glue and screw the gables on. I also drilled holes in the brick for dowels to support the 40 inches that span the chimney. They are not installed yet because we may remove the shelves to paint them again, which would save a lot of time. Although I might prefer painting in tight corners to avoid installing these shelves one more time. They seem to react differently each time I put them in.

Anyway, the important thing is that now Steph has a place for her latte mugs, right beside her hipster coffee station.

Now I am taking the next FOUR DAYS OFF to celebrate Easter (that's not really why, but it's a holiday I'm going to exploit). I know, I'm so SHELFish! (hahahaha - that one's for you Nick T)
